Operation Handmade Blessing December 2014

I wanted to finally share the photos I have for Operation Handmade Blessing 2014.  I was a little disappointed because we were really restricted on the photos we could take of the residence while giving them their gifts. We were restricted to only take photos of those that could consent and only a few could.  The rest they did not give consent .  In all it was still a good day.  We did not have much volunteer staff this year but the ones we did have it was great.  We had another ministry that was out there giving hope through the word and we just enjoyed giving out the gifts and painting nails, doing crafting projects with them, and giving out free clothes to the residence.  We had a lot of gifts that we gave out.  Thanks to those that participated through and those that participated through our Local Ministries, with their donations!  Even those at my workplace that believe in the mission and joined up on this day.  My family and I are always truly blessed after leaving the nursing home.  We got word that some passed away and some are not even able to come out of their rooms, so this time around we did a lot of visiting in the room since a lot of people were not able to come out due to worse conditions.  Here are some photos of the event.  I still have a few that need to be uploaded but here is a start.

Operation Handmade Blessing Holiday Outreach 2014

It is that time of year again for Operation Handmade Blessings Annual Holiday Outreach.  As you can see in previous posts we had a great time last year and we are anticipating a great time this year.  Please check out last year's event photos.  The due dates for items to be donated this year is August 18th for those that are sending items by mail.  If you would like to see a list of items that are accepted please check out the accepted items tab!

This Operation is about giving back to those in the Nursing Homes and in ALF.  As I have a love for crafting and making things I started with the idea of sharing my handmade items with those in the nursing home that I visited with on a weekly basis teaching bible study. Then it turned into making it an entire event and to get others involved that love handmade crafting and then this operation was born.  I am so thankful for all the women all over the world who handmade items each year to give to those in the nursing home because they are always so excited to get their gifts.  I also thank all those who are local and volunteer and donated towards buying things that can benefit them also and for praying for them, spending time with them, performing for them and all the other things that makes this day a success each year.

This Years event will be on December 20th 2014 2-4pm.  All donates are now through December 18th 2014.  Please check the accepted items list and how to participate if you would like to get involved!  Please e-mail if you have any questions.

Operation Handmade Blessing Christmas Outreach

Christmas Outreach 2014  Operation Handmade Blessings
I wanted to share the awesome time we had December 21st 2013 at our 3rd year of being a blessing to the elderly and those at the Nursing.  There were truly blessed.  I want to thank all those who gave their Time, Money, creativity to helping this cause.  I can't express the gratitude that I have that God gave me an idea, I obeyed it and people actually help make this happen.  I want to thank my Husband who each year help me and staying up late at night to help wrap gifts and get gift bags together.  Also my daughter Destiny for staying up late to help also.  To my Volunteer Staff who did an amazing job catering to the elderly and making sure they had a wonderful time.  We danced, sung, played games, did Christmas crafts, had the kids perform, beautified the women's nails and hands, and gave them gifts that they could use.  They really enjoyed themselves and they really spoke well of us.  Thank You all again!  I have added the pictures from this event.  If you like what we are doing and want to get involved please send an e-mail we would love to have your help in any area we have available in year 2014 of December.
